deNevers Events was thrilled to be a part of S & D's wedding~a theatrical production...a dramatic and bliss~filled celebration that we were so honoured to be a part of. They were married in a local community college theatre..complete with head shots and the actual wedding gowns of both mothers of the bride and groom. The ceremony held wrought iron floor candelabras sitting amongst a candle filled moss garden with a breathtaking moss covered chandalier to punctuate the decor.. The reception had a moss draped head table... and whimsical guest table centerpieces with moss and china teacups.. to a dance time where every single guest in the room (plus the wedding coordinator) were all holding hands...celebrating through the reception room...dancing to "Love Train". Wonderful function..not soon to be forgotten. Congratulations!

Saying Farewell to an "Eventful" 2009...

As 2009 closes, deNevers Events would like to thank all of their brides and grooms for a year full of tremendous memories... This season was incredibly special with moments and small miracles that we were beyond honoured to be a part of. We are very excited to take the month of December to spend with our loved ones through Christmas and start into our already very busy wedding season for 2010. We also invite you to Chilliwack's Tzeachten Hall (next to the Sardis Save-On-Foods)on February 21, 2010 from 1-4 p.m. for the second Valley Bridal Fair. deNevers Events will be present and excited to speak with perspective engaged couples about their upcoming special celebrations!

We want to express our appreciation to all of the many vendors that we work with season after season, who make it a pleasure to come to work in this exciting and rewarding industry. We are very proud and happy to work with such a wonderful group of businesses, and every year we look forward to the new businesses that we meet along the way...

On a personal note, I would like to thank the staff I had come on board this year to assist with events. Your time was priceless and I appreciate your efforts in making this wedding year such a success. I would like to personally thank Nicole Johnston, for her energy, enthusiasm and professionalism through her working with us this year, and can hardly wait to sew together another event season with her in 2010.
And, most importantly, I would like to thank my family. Every year, my husband, Neil and my children live inside my constant passion for weddings and events. Their patience, understanding and love leaves me awestruck at how very blessed I am to have them in my life. My decision making processes will now be changing to plan and execute weddings with the same drive and focus to constantly try and discover ways to remind my family that they are still very much my top priority... and I am nothing without them.

Following a traditional Persian wedding ceremony on a memorable Friday in September...Ghazy and Santiago then carried on to celebrate with friends and family in a remarkable celebration on a Sunday at Minter Gardens. Candles were lit....palms were romantically placed everywhere...and tears of joy flowed like water. It was truly a unique time for everybody and it was beyond an honour for deNevers Events to be on site to witness this special couple's milestone. Ghazal & Santiago-Traditional Persian Ceremony

A couple that still leaves me breathless. Ghazy & Santi were an amazing couple to work with. deNevers Events was thrilled and honoured to be asked to assist in helping set up the traditional Persian table for the wedding ceremony on Friday. Candles, fruit, honey (the first thing they feed each other through the ceremony-how very sweet!), pastries, rice, nuts, sugar... The multi layered story of what gets presented to a couple throughout their ceremony was a loving learning experience for us at deNevers Events.

A breathtaking Canadian wedding ceremony took place at Minter Gardens on Sunday and we will follow up with photographs very soon.

Valley Wedding Fair with Valley Wedding Solutions

Inexpensive and Stunning Centerpieces

Ideas for centerpieces are endless...Additional ideas like using textural fillers like grasses, ferns, and ornamental lettuces..are an inexpensive and chic way of making a floral arrangement look fuller..

Other ideas are reusing ceremony flowers at your reception site. de Nevers Events specializes in wonderful floral arrangements-all silk which is very budget friendly-and then includes the transporting of the florals from one site to another.

Flower petals are a fantastic option. Instead of big centerpieces, scatter rose petals on the table and use simple candlelight. Floating petals and a few large flower heads in a wide, shallow bowl for a cool water-garden look. The photo above is a beautiful red event guest table only using votive candleholders, vases with candle pillars, mirrors and silk roses to puncuate the table decor.

Kelsey and Danny wedding was one made of pure magic. With their families' love surrounding them...and their wedding celebration overflowing in red... their actual day left everyone breathless. It was an absolute honour being a part of their special day.

Thank you for all the amazing work you did on our wedding. The day was perfect, everything looked beautiful and ran so smoothly! I have no idea how the wedding would have been without you (and I am glad we didn't have to find out). You did a beautiful job pulling it all together and smoothing out some of the bumps along the way! It was great to work with someone so talented and truly loves what they do!

There are many ways of personalizing your wedding celebration day. These two couples used two very unique ways of having their guests remember their day... One special couple gave all of their guests local made honey in decorative boxes to bring home as favors. It was thoughtful, attractive and very much appreciated.

The other couple participated in a sand ceremony in their wedding. The bride has an individual color of sand..and so does the groom... when they each take turns pouring in the actual sand, it makes a very lovely design. At the end of the pouring, the couple pours the sand together, symbolizing the grains of sand will never be able to be separated. This makes a very nice alternative to the unity candle, especially if an engaged couple is planning an outdoor wedding, where candles are not easily seen, or lit.
